After reading it, I asked God for a distinct encounter with the Holy Spirit. It happened immediately. Shortly after falling asleep, the evening of my request, I was awakened by my dog barking. I thought he must have heard a noise outside or the neighbors coming home. When I got up from the bed to see what was going on, I felt a shaking in my room. Within the 10 or so minutes that I had fallen asleep, a mighty gusting wind was in our backyard. It was so fierce I was certain the chairs on the deck would end up in someone else’s yard. There was lightening with this wind and suddenly it became clear to me that the wind was the Holy Spirit. Nowhere on my weather app was there an indication that the wind gusts were present. It was a suddenly encounter and my prayer request had been immediately answered.

In the morning, I was certain I’d find the deck furniture strewn about and my tiny plastic lanterns either broken or in another location because of the force of the wind.
